These glass castings (collectively titled “Making Sense”) form interlocking tiles that feature ideas from the various disciplines taught at YVCC.  Many of the formulas, quotes, and images were developed collaboratively with instructors from YVCC.  Interspersed among these images of learning are castings from the natural world of the Yakima valley (Ponderosa Pine bark, Basalt, Cherry bark etc.).  Together the interlocking tiles reference humankind’s attempts to make order out of the natural world.
